My older sister graduated from and met her husband at Ashland College. I always wanted to follow in her footsteps. I struggled in school and did not originally get accepted into Ashland. My brother-in-law wrote a letter on my behalf. In his letter he talked about the “Accent on the Individual”. They admitted me on academic probation. I needed to learn new ways to learn—and Ashland gave me this opportunity. I feel I wouldn’t have graduated if I went to a larger school. Every year my grades improved and I had a high GPA when I graduated. I met my husband during my last year at Ashland. We will be married for 17 years this year and have one son. We currently live in Richfield and both have fond memories of Ashland University.
