Along with my role as the director of the MBA program, I’m currently in the doctoral program here at AU. It’s been great to be on the other side of the “Accent on the Individual” experience and see how much time and effort our professors put into making sure their students know the material, understand the real-world implications and have a plan to grow as individuals. Just last night, in fact, Dr. Judy Alston took our entire class out to dinner as a sort of end-of-semester celebration. It was great to be able to get to know her and my classmates on a more intimate level outside the classroom. I’ve been in higher education for 23 years and I have never seen a professor as well-known nationally as Dr. Alston is spend time with students in such a personal way. That’s what sets Ashland apart from so many other universities.
